Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey announced on Monday that running back Maurice Jones-Drew will sit out the team's upcoming game against the Detroit Lions as he continues to recover from a sprained left foot.
Jones-Drew, the NFL's 2011 rushing champion, initially suffered the injury during the Jaguars' 26-23 overtime loss at Oakland on Oct. 21 and missed Sunday's 24-15 setback at Green Bay as a result. There currently is no timetable for his return.
Rashad Jennings served as the lead back against the Packers and amassed 115 total yards, gaining 59 rushing yards on 17 carries and contributing an additional 56 yards on six receptions.
Mularkey also declared safety Dwight Lowery out for the Detroit game. The fifth-year pro has missed the team's previous two contests due to an ankle injury.
