The South Sound Estuary Association will hold its first Pier Peer at 8 p.m. Saturday at Boston Harbor Marina. The group will offer the event the first Saturday of each month, taking over the program run by the now defunct People for Puget Sound.
Participants will get the chance to discover some of the mysterious creatures that live in Puget Sound, including jellyfish, sea slugs and predatory worms. Underwater lights will be used to attract creatures for easy viewing.
Participants should bring a flashlight for each person and dress for the weather. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and the program is not suited for children younger than 5. The cost is $10 per adult and children get in free.

Metro Parks Tacoma has a similar program set for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at Foss Waterway Seaport.
