A 30-year-old man is expected to be charged today with stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death in her Auburn apartment.
Scottye Miller is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. King County prosecutors have until today to charge him in the death of 33-year-old Tricia Patricelli, who had filed a protection order against Miller after he repeatedly made threats to kill her.
Court documents give this account:
Miller slipped on gloves, grabbed two knives and stabbed Patricelli to death in her apartment in the 1600 block of 22nd Street Northeast. Her body was found in the bathtub.
A neighbor saw Miller run from the apartment and throw something over the fence. Detectives determined Miller had tossed Patricelli’s cellphone, two knives and some blood-soaked gloves.
Miller was arrested later that day after officers found him. He was sitting at a bus stop, dressed in blood-stained clothing.
Although he initially said Patricelli was dead when he came to her apartment, “he admitted sending her numerous texts, threatening to beat and kill her.”
Miller has prior convictions for domestic violence and harassing Patricelli.
