BELLINGHAM - The annual Fishermen's Memorial and Blessing of the Fleet will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at Zuanich Point Park next to Squalicum Harbor.
The gathering will include a blessing for local fishers as they start their season. At the end of the ceremony, a wreath commemorating fishers who died at sea will be placed on the waters of Bellingham Bay.
Refreshments and seafood entree will be provided after the event in the Squalicum Boathouse. Participants are invited to bring a salad or side dish.
