In the race for 27th District state House, Jake Fey is easily defeating fellow Democrat Lauren Walker after the first ballot counts.
As of 8:15 p.m., Fey was holding a 63 to 36 percent lead over Walker, the Pierce County Auditors office reported.
The matchup to replace the House seat vacated by state Rep. Jeannie Darneille pitted two sitting second-term Tacoma City Council members.
Fey, who is making his third bid for the state house, bested Walker by only 6 points in the primary.
