Houston Texans nose tackle Shaun Cody reportedly suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung.
The Houston Chronicle is reporting the injuries as confirmed by a person familiar with his status.
Cody did not participate in team practice on Wednesday, but neither the player or the team has said anything about the extent of the issue.
He suffered the injuries in last week's win against Buffalo and briefly left the game, but did return to play.
"He's doing better. It's going to be a day-to-day deal," said Houston head coach Gary Kubiak after practice. "Basically, it's getting the soreness back out of him, getting to where he can get back out there and function. Shaun has always been able to work through things. We're just 100 percent committed right now to the training room. I think he's a weekend decision all the way."
The eight-year pro, a second-round pick of the Lions in 2005, has 13 tackles in eight games this season.
