Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin was inactive for Sunday's game against NFC North rival Detroit.

Harvin sprained his left ankle in three places during the third quarter of last week's 30-20 loss at Seattle. Though he did not come out of the contest, the playmaking wideout was on crutches Monday and did not practice the entire week.

An MRI exam taken Monday confirmed a significant sprain, though Harvin did not sustain any fractures. He was listed as doubtful on Friday's injury report.

The 24-year-old will miss a game for the first time since Week 14 of the 2010 season.

The versatile Harvin is in the midst of a terrific 2012 campaign. He entered this week atop the NFL with 62 receptions totaling 677 yards and also leads the league with a 35.9-yard average on kickoff returns.

Minnesota does have a bye in Week 11 following Sunday's showdown with the Lions.

Michael Jenkins will start in place of Harvin. In addition, rookie wide receiver Jarius Wright is active for the first time in his career.

Defensive tackle Letroy Guion, who was also listed as doubtful due to a turf toe injury, is inactive. Fred Evans will start in his place.
