Brown Bear Car Wash is honoring veterans and current service members with free car washes Sunday, Nov. 11.

"As a way of saying 'thank you' to our military, Brown Bear offers free Bear Essentials car washes to all current or former members of the military on Veterans Day," the company said in a news release.

The offer will operate on an honor system, and no verification or documentation is required, Brown Bear explained. Drivers should identify themselves as a current or former member of the military to the wash attendant.

The offer is available at all Puget Sound-area Brown Bear tunnel-wash locations. To find the one closest to you, go to www.brownbear.com.

"It's pretty emotional to start writing about events, even of long ago," said Novotny, who served four tours of duty in Vietnam. "You're refreshing them in your mind when you bring them up to write them down."
