Gov.-elect Jay Inslee names transition team leaders
In his first post-campaign press conference today, Democrat Jay Inslee announced the co-chairs of his Transition Committee, a group heavy on education experience.

Gov. Jay Inslee spoke at a rally at the Capitol in support of a transportation funding package, saying it's "crunch time" to pay for road projects and maintain existing roads and bridges.
Ecology Director Ted Sturdevant will leave the job of running the state’s environmental agency to become Gov.-elect Jay Inslee‘s policy director and emissary to the Legislature.
While Jay Inslee’s transition team scoured the state for promising leaders to fill his administration, Inslee’s campaign team was on the hunt for checks to pay off the debt from his expensive contest for governor.
Transit advocates used a forum in Tacoma Thursday to offer options that would generate more money for bus service, whether directly from the state or by imposing a motor vehicle excise tax.
