These maps show how Pierce County precincts voted on key races in the Nov. 6 election. A final map highlights swing precincts where most voted for both Democrat President Barack Obama and Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna.
Some countywide trends:
Governor: Pierce County cast a split ticket for president and governor, voting for both Democrat Obama and Republican McKenna. That's not unheard-of: The county also voted Democratic for president (John Kerry) and Republican for governor (Dino Rossi) in 2004. McKenna carried 31 counties, including Pierce, but couldn't overcome Democratic Jay Inslee's huge lead in King County.
I-502 (marijuana legalization): Pierce County voters overwhelmingly approved marijuana legalization, voting 54 percent for I-502.
R-74 (gay marriage): Pierce County voted against same-sex marriage by a slim margin – less than 3,000 votes at last count.
