The Washington Huskies finally found the end zone Saturday on their third trip inside the red zone, when Keith Price found Cody Bruns for a touchdown late in the first half against the Colorado Buffaloes.
A Bishop Sankey fumble inside the 5-yard line ended a Washington scoring threat on the Huskies' fourth possession of the game, as both teams struggled to move the ball in Boulder, Colo.
After penalties stalled Washington's first two possessions, Huskies kicker Travis Coons missed a chip-shot field goal on the third UW drive following a Shaq Thompson interception.
The Huskies defense forced three-and-outs on the Colorado Buffaloes' first two drives and stuffed a fourth-down conversion attempt late in the first quarter, but the Huskies offense has been out of sync.
Washington had great field position after forcing two Colorado punts, but the Huskies turned the ball over on downs on their second possession after receiver Kasen Williams was flagged for a costly offensive pass interference penalty.
Junior Greg Ducre started for senior corner Desmond Trufant, who is still dealing with an ailing hamstring. The Huskies are also light at running back, with Dezden Petty and Erich Wilson III both banged up.
