David Russell recently drove to Lakewood from Camas to make arrangements after his father’s death earlier that day.
The hectic trip became even more so when his car was broken into Nov. 13 and his personal and work belongings stolen, Russell said.
One of four brothers, he was on his way to Yelm to pick up family members to discuss funeral arrangements when his parked car was broken into in the 9000 block of Dalwood Road Southwest between 3 and 5 p.m.
He guesses the stolen items total about $1,500. Fixing the car will require about $300, he says.
On the list of stolen items is the black toolbox he uses to repair printing presses for a living. It has a silver name tag under the handle.
He also lost a small black HP computer, a leather satchel with his clothing for the trip, a black briefcase and a leather day planner.
The family asks that anyone with information about the theft call the Lakewood police.
