Before you chow down on that Thanksgiving feast, plan on getting a little exercise first. For those out in east Pierce County, check out the “Huff, Puff and Stuff Jazzercise and Food Drive from 9-10 a.m. at Meridian Habitat Park Community Center, 14422 Meridian Ave. E., Puyallup. It’s free, bring a food donation for the food bank. 253-841-8515, piercecountywa.org/parks.
In Tacoma, join in the annual tradition of the Norpoint Turket Trot. Bring the family and run the 5K, or walk the two-mile course. There also is a kids trot. In its 18th year, the event is Tacoma’s longest-running turkey trot and also collects used tennis shoes and food bank donations. The entry fee is $35 ($40 day of race) and includes a long-sleeve organic cotton tee (not guaranteed for race day registrants.) The fun begins at 9 a.m.; check-in is at 7:30 a.m. Call 253-404-3900 or go to metroparkstacoma.org/trot.
