A 27-year-old Army sergeant with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of second-degree rape at a Lacey apartment on Sweetbrier Lane.

The man, who is stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, is accused of raping a fellow soldier at a party. He is scheduled to appear Wednesday in Thurston County Superior Court. He has no criminal history.

According to court papers:

The woman reported the rape Nov. 10 at Madigan Army Medical Center. She said she was at a friend’s house Nov. 9 with three men, including the suspect. At some point, the suspect forced her into a bedroom and forced himself on her, she said. She said she shouted during the attack.

A detective interviewed the suspect Tuesday at JBLM Criminal Investigation Command. He was arrested off-post and taken to the Thurston County Jail.
