Governor-elect Jay Inslee met with outgoing Gov. Chris Gregoire to discuss his transition to office in January.
Inslee and fellow Democrat Gregoire spoke at the Capitol on Wednesday just a few weeks after Inslee won a narrow victory over his Republican opponent, Attorney General Rob McKenna.
Gregoire, who didn’t seek a third term, is leaving office mid-January.
Last week, Inslee announced the co-chairs of his transition team, Washington State University President Elson Floyd, Renton School District Superintendent Mary Alice Heuschel and Microsoft General Counsel Brad Smith. The transition director will be Brian Bonlender, who served as Inslee’s chief of staff when he was in the U.S. House and as a senior adviser to his campaign.
