Peter Potterfield will present a slide show Dec. 6 of his recently released book, “Classic Hikes of North America.”
Potterfield will talk about his favorite backcountry hiking routes, from Newfoundland to the Sierra Nevadas, from the Tetons to the Canadian Rockies, from the White Mountains to the North Cascades. The slide show includes images of the hiking routes as well as a discussion of strategy and gear. The program will be followed by a question and answer period and book signing. Potterfield’s new book features 25 backpacking trips in the United States and Canada. They include treks on the Northern Loop in Mount Rainier National Park, Little Beaver-Big Beaver Loop in North Cascades National Park and the Chilkoot Trail in Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park in Alaska.
