Four players scored in double figures to give the Gonzaga women an 80-66 victory over Winthrop in the third-place game of the Hardwood Tournament of Hope in Puerto Vallarta.
Freshman Elle Tinkle had a career-high 14 points to lead the Zags (6-1). Junior Jazmine Redmon added 13 points and six assists.
Dequesha McClanahan led Winthrop (2-3) with 21 points.
ELSEWHERE
At the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Breanna Stewart scored 20 points, and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and Morgan Tuck each had 16 to help No. 2 Connecticut (3-0) rout Wake Forest, 95-34, in the opening game; and KK Houser scored 17 points and Courtney Moses added 14 to help Purdue (4-0) pound Marist, 71-51.
