Junior K.J. Hong scored 25 points to lead The Evergreen State College past the University of Puget Sound, 74-66, in a non-conference game Saturday at Olson Auditorium in Parkland.

The win gave the Geoducks (1-4) their 200th win in program history.

Hong, a Decatur grad, hit his first six shots, including five from behind the arc, for 20 first-half points.

Evergreen’s lead ballooned to 27 in the second half, but the Loggers (1-3) fought back to get within six until Travis Wagner, who also attended Decatur, hit a pair of free throws with five second left to ice the win.

Derek Jobe and Riggs Yarbro led UPS with 11 points each.
