No. 2 UConn 91, No. 14 Purdue 57: Freshman Breanna Stewart scored 17 points and the Huskies beat the Boilermakers for the Paradise Jam tournament title at St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.

Connecticut, which also beat Wake Forest by 61 points and Marist by 42 in the tournament, was expecting a tougher game from the previously undefeated Boilermakers (5-1). But the Huskies (5-0) jumped out to an 11-0 lead and never trailed.

No. 6 Penn State 85, at Cal State Northridge 73: Maggie Lucas scored 23 points and Nikki Greene added 21 points and a career best-tying 20 rebounds as the Nittany Lions (5-0) overcame a 17-point first-half deficit to defeat the Matadors (3-2).

No. 8 Georgia 72, at New Mexico 42: Jasmine James had 17 points and six steals, and the Bulldogs forced 24 turnovers.

Georgia (7-0) held New Mexico to 29 percent shooting. The Lobos (5-1) had 15 field goals for the game.
