According to the Washington State Patrol:

The trooper, whose name was not disclosed, pulled over a vehicle about 2 a.m. at Pacific Avenue and Pattison Street in Olympia. The trooper got out of his car to talk to the driver, but later was struck by the side mirror of another vehicle westbound on Pacific Avenue.

The mirror broke off the car, but the trooper got up, got back into his vehicle and later stopped the driver at Chambers Street and Pacific Avenue.
