An air quality burn ban went into effect at noon for Pierce, King and Snohomish counties until further notice, according to the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency.
A Stage 1 burn ban is in effect for Pierce and Snohomish counties as of 5 p.m. Dec. 29, according to the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency. Cold and stagnant weather expected to last through the week may cause a build-up of air pollution, which could reach unhealthy levels for some groups.
