The Gig Harbor Eagles will hold their annual holiday craft bazaar this weekend to benefit scholarship funds for local high school students. The event will be held at the Eagles building, 4425 Burnham Dr NW, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
"There will be all kinds of unique, one-of-a-kind gifts," said Jeanne Crider, this year's Madam President of the Eagles Women's Auxiliary. Crider, an artist herself, will set up a booth along with other vendors selling homemade gifts. Crider specializes in recycled Christmas ornaments, with an emphasis this year on Santa Claus figures on shoehorns.
"You get to see old friends," Crider said of the event, "and hopefully sell a few things too."
The Eagles Women's Auxiliary has over 400 members and does volunteer work throughout the year. Proceeds from the craft bazaar go toward the scholarships for graduating high school students that the Eagles offers every spring. Students from Gig Harbor, Peninsula and Henderson high schools are eligible.
