Fire damaged a wax-storage tank at a cardboard plant in Orting late Thursday, firefighters said Friday.
The blaze broke out about 11:45 p.m. in the 10,000-gallon tank at Commencement Bay Corrugated, Orting Valley Fire & Rescue said. Workers at the plant use the wax to manufacture water-resistant cardboard.
Nearly 20 firefighters from three departments brought the blaze under control about 16 minutes after arriving, the agency said.
Damage was estimated at $3,000. Cause of the blaze was under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
