The annual Gig Harbor Christmas Tree lighting event went off this year without the usual bitter cold, or the threat of rain. Warm weather and hundreds of holiday merry makers came out to witness the arrival of Santa Claus riding atop a fire engine. The local band RokkerBox entertained the crowd as hot apple cider and holiday sugar cookies were handed out by volunteers.

The tall tree was lit brightly with many colored bulbs. The crowd cheered as the unofficial arrival of the holiday season arrived in the harbor.
