A special weather statement says gusts up to 50 mph along the coast and north of Whidbey Island should hit this evening. In Tacoma, winds are predicted to remain around 17 mph and increase to 25 mph Tuesday afternoon.

The Tri-Cities will be under a wind advisory from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. today.
A southwest wind of 16 to 21 mph will build to 25 to 30 mph by this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Winds could gust as high as 41 mph.

Button up your overcoat. In typical spring fashion, weather moving through the Treasure Valley on Sunday and Monday will run the gamut: downpour, drizzle, wind gusts, thunderstorms with an occasional glimpse of blue sky.
The winds will pick up Monday gusting up to 34 mph with a 30 percent chance of rain. Monday's high will be in the mid 50s dropping to the low 30s at night.
Tuesday’s forecast calls for most sunny skies with a high near 61.

An unseasonably cold low pressure system will move into the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday and remain over the region through much of the rest of the week.
Temperatures could be 10 degrees or more below normal starting Wednesday.
