During his customary day-after press conference on Monday, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid proclaimed rookie quarterback Nick Foles as the starter for the remainder of the 2012 season.

Foles finished Sunday night's 38-33 loss in Dallas 22-of-34 for 251 yards and one touchdown.

The Arizona product and third-round pick in this year's draft has acquitted himself well in four games (three starts) under center despite his club's free fall, going 81-of-133 for 793 yards, two TDs and three interceptions.

"This was my decision," Reid said when asked if there was any external pressure driving his choice. "If there's one great thing about the Eagles organization ... it's that they've allowed me to make the decisions."

Philadelphia, which has dropped eight straight games following a 3-1 start, has four games left: at Tampa on Dec. 9, home against Cincinnati four days later, home vs. Washington on Dec. 23 and the season-finale on the road against the Giants one week later.

Original starter Michael Vick is still dealing with the after-effects of a concussion suffered on Nov. 11 against Dallas.
