Strong’s resignation was turned in and accepted at the Sept. 6 meeting of the PSD Board of Directors, according to acting Superintendent Chuck Cuzzetto.

Former Gig Harbor High School Principal Ted Strong, who led the school for nearly three years, is no longer with the Peninsula School District.
The Peninsula School District Board of Directors Thursday night appointed Dr. Harlan Gallinger to Position 4, vacated by Jill Uddenberg in September. Gallinger was confirmed by a unanimous vote to fill the remainder of the the 3-year term.
Through six winless games to start the season, the Gig Harbor High School boys basketball team missed some opportunities in the fourth quarter.
The 29th annual Key Peninsula Citizens of the Year awards banquet will be held at 6 p.m. March 30 at the Key Peninsula Civic Center in Vaughn. The keynote speaker will be Jane Parnell, the superintendent of the Washington Corrections Center for Women. Eighteen citizens have been nominated for the honor. Dinner will be provided by Dorne Webster of Mosquito Fleet Cuisine.
In honor of civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr., Jan. 21 is Communities in Schools Peninsula's MLK Day Glass Recycle event for Gig Harbor, Fox Island and Key Peninsula.
