The News Tribune’s Gas Deal Finder reports average prices for unleaded regular in the Tacoma area were $3.401 a gallon in mid-afternoon today. That’s 1.2 cents more than the average a week ago.

Gas prices in the South Sound continued inching lower this week hitting an average of $3.311 a gallon, the lowest prices since February 2011.
After a nearly month-long decline, South Sound gasoline prices are climbing upward again this week.
The brief romance between $4-per-gallon prices and South Sound service stations appears to be over, at least for now.
South Sound gas prices are following a time-honored script this week, jumping on the “up” escalator as the new year unfolds.
Average gasoline prices in the South Sound have fallen nearly 10 cents in the last week and more than three cents since Monday.
