Bethel School Board interviewing applicants tonight at office

The Bethel School Board will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. today at the district office, 516 176th St. E., Spanaway, to interview applicants for an open seat on the board. The five candidates are Jennifer Barnstein, Rachel Bacon, Warren Smith, Deborah Jones and Kristin Larson.

The Bethel School Board will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. today at the district office, 516 176th St. E., Spanaway, to interview applicants for an open seat on the board. The five candidates are Jennifer Barnstein, Rachel Bacon, Warren Smith, Deborah Jones and Kristin Larson.

Interviews will be conducted publicly. The board will then recess into a closed session to review the candidates’ qualifications. The board is not expected to take action today.

    The Pasco School District will have an orientation session Tuesday for people interested in applying for the vacant position on the Pasco School Board.

    The session will be at 4:30 p.m. at the administrative offices at 1215 W. Lewis St. It will provide information on the roles and responsibilities of being a board member.

    Board member Jeffrey Dong resigned his seat on the board earlier this month. He has not attended a meeting in more than a year because of illness and said in a letter to the board he did not anticipate being able to return in the near future.
