Joint Base Lewis-McChord on Wednesday will carry out a daylong security exercise that could cause delays and detours for people who need to get on the installation.

Base officials said they took steps to prevent the exercise from causing delays on Interstate 5. But people accessing services on base may encounter disruptions, officials said.

The exercise centers on a mix of security threats that could unfold on the base. The Army intends to post updates about the exercise Wednesday at www.facebook.com/JBLewisMcChord.
