A 17-year-old boy fleeing his home Thursday after a domestic violence incident plowed his vehicle into another and tried to run away, but bystanders held him until Pierce County sheriff’s deputies arrived.
The incident took place about 12:15 p.m. at 112th Street East and Canyon Road East in the Summit area.
“He tried to run from the scene but citizens grabbed him and caught him,” sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.
The teen was in custody. Deputies were trying to determine what led up to the crash.
The driver of the car that the teen’s vehicle hit was taken to the hospital.
