The owner of a local berry farm badly injured in a car wreck on U.S. Highway 2 near Dryden, Wash., last week is showing signs of improvement.
Terry Carkner of Terry's Berries Organic Farm was moved out of the intensive care unit at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee on Thursday, the farm reported on its Facebook page.
"The good news is that Terry is out of intensive care! She still has a way to go, but she's a farmer after all, so she's made of tough stuff! Keep rooting for her and thanks for the continued support through this," the post reads.
Carkner was injured last Friday in a three-car crash. Carkner was riding in a car driven by her husband, Dick Carkner. Dick Carkner and another passenger in the car sustained bumps and bruises.
The Carkners and their passenger were headed to a conference near Pateros, Wash., at the time of the wreck.
