The owner of a local berry farm badly injured last week in a car wreck on U.S. Highway 2 near Dryden is showing signs of improvement.
Terry Carkner of Terry’s Berries Organic Farm was moved out of the intensive care unit at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee on Thursday, the farm reported on its Facebook page.
“The good news is that Terry is out of intensive care!” the post reads. “She still has a way to go, but she’s a farmer after all, so she’s made of tough stuff! Keep rooting for her and thanks for the continued support through this.”
Carkner was hurt Dec. 7 in a three-car crash. She was riding in a car driven by her husband, Dick Carkner. He and another passenger in the car suffered bumps and bruises.
The Carkners and their passenger were headed to a conference near Pateros at the time of the wreck.
