Crews were to close two lanes of southbound Interstate 5 in Federal Way beginning Friday night so they can work on improving drainage pipes, the state Department of Transportation reported.

The closure will begin near the state Route 161 (Enchanted Parkway) interchange. The lanes will be reopened by 6 a.m. Monday.

Workers will be extending an existing drainage system to help manage increased water runoff from a new series of ramps at the so-called Federal Way Triangle, where I-5, and routes 161 and 18 converge.
