Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III practiced for the third day in a row on his sprained right knee Friday, albeit again on a limited basis, and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
“He keeps on improving every day,” coach Mike Shanahan said. “He’s much better today.”
Shanahan again said he will wait until Sunday to reveal whether Griffin or fellow rookie Kirk Cousins will start.
Griffin, sprained his lateral collateral ligament when he was hit by defensive tackle Haloti Ngata late in regulation in last week’s 31-28 overtime victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
Fourth-round pick Cousins finished the game, throwing a touchdown pass in the final minute and running in the game-tying two-point conversion.
MORE RG3
ESPN suspended commentator Rob Parker for comments he made regarding Griffin III on Thursday.
Parker questioned Griffin’s “blackness,” saying he wanted to find out more about Griffin and how he deals with black teammates and others in Washington.
“We all know he has a white fiancée,” Parker said. “There was all this talk about he’s a Republican. … I’m just trying to dig deeper.”
ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said: “Following yesterday’s comments, Rob Parker has been suspended until further notice. We are conducting a full review.”
BEARS’ CUTLER PROBABLE
Bears quarterback Jay Cutler appears ready to play against the Packers.
Cutler went through a full practice despite knee and neck problems and was officially listed as probable.
