A Joint Base Lewis-McChord Stryker soldier on his third deployment was killed in Afghanistan Monday, the Defense Department announced tonight.
A Joint Base Lewis-McChord 4th Stryker Brigade soldier died Jan. 16 when he encountered an IED while on a dismounted patrol in Afghanistan, the Army said today.
According to a Department of Defense release: "Sgt. 1st Class James F. Grissom, 31, of Hayward, Calif., died March 21 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, of wounds suffered from small arms fire March 18 in Paktika Province, Afghanistan."
