Not only will the knee injury for Robert Griffin III keep the Washington quarterback out of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Cleveland, but the Redskins rookie has been listed as inactive for the contest.
Kirk Cousins will make his first NFL start for the Redskins, while veteran Rex Grossman will be the backup.
Griffin practiced all week and was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report, but was declared out on Saturday. He said on Twitter that the decision "was not my own."
Cousins took over last week against Baltimore after Griffin sustained a Grade I sprain of the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee during the eventual game-tying drive in the fourth quarter of Washington's 31-28 overtime win.
