Galdeira-led WSU stuns No. 20 Ohio St.

Lia Galdeira scored 13 of her 15 points in the second half to help Washington State upset the 20th-ranked Buckeyes, 62-55, in Pullman.

The Cougars (3-5) led 28-23 at halftime before Ohio State (6-3) came back to lead 36-32. WSU then forced three straight turnovers, with Taylor Edmondson’s 3-pointer putting the Cougars ahead for good, 40-37.

Ohio State had a good look at a potential tying 3-pointer with 33 seconds to play, but the Buckeyes missed on two chances and was forced to foul. Galdeira made all four of her free throws to clinch it.

Washington State forced 21 turnovers and forced Ohio State to go 1-for-17 from 3-point range.

Taylor Hill had 14 points, and Ashley Adams had 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Buckeyes.

UC Santa Barbara 54, at Washington 46: After falling behind big early, the Huskies rallied but fell short against the Gauchos (4-5).

Jazmine Davis scored 20 points to lead UW (6-2) but shot just 6 of 20 from the floor. Aminah Williams grabbed 10 rebounds, her sixth straight game in double figures.

At No. 1 Stanford 78, Pacific 43: Chiney Ogwumike scored a career-high 31 points to go with 13 rebounds, and the Cardinal (9-0) beat the Tigers (7-2).

No. 14 UCLA 76, Saint Mary’s 62: Jasmine Dixon scored five of her 13 points during a 12-0 run in the second half, and the Bruins beat Saint Mary’s in the St. John’s Holiday Classic in New York.The Bruins (6-1) will play St. John’s in the championship game today, while the Gaels (6-3) face Tennessee Tech in the consolation game.

No. 23 Texas 79, at USC 61: Kelsey Bone and Kristi Bellock scored 15 points each, helping the Aggies (6-3) kick off a four-game road swing with a victory over the Trojans.

Cassie Harberts led USC (3-5) with 19 points and eight rebounds.

At Loyola Marymount 73, Oregon State 62: Hazel Ramirez scored 16 points, dished out five assists and collected three steals to lead the Lions (6-5) past the Beavers (6-4).

Ali Gibson led the Beavers with a game-high 21 points, and Alyssa Martin chipped in 14.

At Utah 71, Houston Baptist 22: Michelle Plouffe scored 16 points and had a career-high seven assists to spark the Utes’ rout of the Huskies (2-9).

Taryn Wicijowski also scored 16 for Utah (8-1) and pulled down seven rebounds.
