The Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center is open when the road is open, with restrooms, exhibits, movie and warming area. The information desk will be staffed Dec. 24 and Dec. 26-Jan. 1, as well as weekends and Monday holidays through March 31.

The Hurricane Ridge snack bar and ski shop, with both ski and snowshoe rentals, is scheduled to be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 26- through Jan. 1 and on weekends and holiday Mondays through March 31.

Ranger-led snowshoe walks for individuals and families will be offered at 2 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and Monday holidays through March 31. The walks last 90 minutes and are less than one mile in length. Space on the walks is limited, so people should sign up at the visitor center information desk beginning 30 minutes before the scheduled walk. A suggested $5 donation from each snowshoe walk participant helps the park provide snowshoe walks and repair and replace snowshoes.

Weather permitting, the downhill ski and snowboard area will open Friday. It will operate from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. daily Dec. 28-Jan. 1, as well as Saturdays, Sundays and Monday holidays through March 31. More information about the Hurricane Ridge downhill ski and snowboard area is available at hurricaneridge.com.

Tubing and sliding are permitted for children 8 years and younger at the small children’s snowplay area just west of the visitor center. The ski area also operates a tubing park.

The Olympic National Park Visitor Center & Wilderness Information Center at the base of Hurricane Ridge Road is open daily throughout the winter from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., except for Christmas Day.
