Mount Tahoma group seeks donations

T he Mount Tahoma High School JROTC Thunderbird Battalion’s annual Christmas holiday food drive is currently raising food and funds to provide food baskets to school families that have been identified to be in need of assistance. The goal is to fill 50 baskets. The group is asking the public for food donations, including perishables. The last day of the drive is Wednesday.

    The U.S. Postal Service will be collecting food as a part of its annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive.

    On Saturday, community members can leave canned food donations in their mailboxes. The donations will be collected by letter carriers and donated to local food banks.

    Canned soup, meats, fish, vegetables, fruits and juices, boxed goods, pasta and rice are needed.
