Free lymphedema class today at cancer center

The Tri-Cities Cancer Center is offering a free lymphedema prevention class.

The class will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. today at the center, 7350 W. Deschutes Ave., Kennewick.

Lymphedema is a swelling that occurs in the arms or legs because of problems in the lymph system.

The disease affects men and women and must be treated by draining the lymph fluid.

Early detection can help prevent discomfort and permanent damage.
