Sandy Hook victims to be honored with candlelight vigil on South Hill

The children of Sandy Hook Elementary killed in the Dec. 14 tragedy in Newtown, Conn. will be honored and remembered with a candlelight vigil hosted by The TEARS Foundation at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 at Carson Elementary School on South Hill.

The children of Sandy Hook Elementary killed in the Dec. 14 tragedy in Newtown, Conn. will be honored and remembered with a candlelight vigil hosted by The TEARS Foundation at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 at Carson Elementary School on South Hill.

Carson elementary is located at 8615 184th St. E.

The vigil will include music, prayer, naming of victims and a moment of slience to honor the families. Candles will be provided along with green and white ribbons representing Sandy Hook's school colors.

The TEARS Foundation originally founded to honor the lives of Charles and Braden Powell, continues its mission of commitment to honoring and helping grieving families of children lost to tragedy.

    BELLINGHAM - A vigil honoring the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut is planned for Saturday afternoon, Dec. 22, in the Bellis Fair mall food court.

    Community members are invited to participate in the vigil, which will include Christmas carols and a Hearts of Hope art station where people can decorate a heart and send a message to the Newtown Congregational Church.

    Those interested can meet at 1 p.m. near the gift-wrapping station in the food court. The organizer, Kristi Anderson, will be wearing a red sweater and will hand out song sheets and ribbons in Sandy Hook's colors, green and white. Carols will begin at 2 p.m.
