BELLINGHAM - A lane of Indian Street between Holly and Ellis streets will be closed for repairs because of a stormwater main collapse.

Work to repair the main will begin at 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, along Indian and continue through the night, with estimated completion by 6 a.m. Friday, according to Bellingham Public Works.

During the work, Indian will be reduced to one lane in the area. Northeast-bound traffic will be detoured from Indian to Holly Street around the work zone.

People in the area should expect to hear some noise as crews break the pavement before midnight for the work.
