A 15-year-old Richland boy escaped serious injuries when his bicycle was hit by a car Tuesday night.
The boy was hit just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of McMurray Street and Pike Avenue.
He was in dark clothes and had no lights on his bicycle when he rode into the path of a car, said Richland police Capt. Mike Cobb.
The driver of the car didn't see the teen, he said.
The right front of the car hit the back tire of the bike, Cobb said.
The teen's jaw was injured after he was thrown over the bike's handlebars, he said. Cobb said the bicyclist likely had more impact with the ground than he did getting bumped by the car.
No citations were issued, Cobb said, noting that traffic investigators said it was caused a little bit by lack of attention on both parties.
Man sought in sex assault on child
A Pasco man is being sought by Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers for an alleged sexual assault of a child.
Ezequiel Solano-Orduno, 22, is wanted for third-degree rape of a child.
Solano-Orduno is 5-foot-7, 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers pays a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that results in a felony arrest.

5 arrested on drug charges in sting
Five Moses Lake residents were arrested for allegedly delivering heroin, after a monthlong undercover investigation, authorities said.
The investigation into the heroin distribution rings was conducted by Grant County's Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team and Moses Lake police.
On Monday, at the conclusion of the investigation, detectives bought drugs from several people, and then arrested them.
Some deliveries were made in the parking lot of a Pioneer Way business near Moses Lake High School and Chief Moses Middle School.
The five suspects arrested were: Sarah G. Marchand, 22, Casey L. Hitchcock, 30, William E. Young, 20, Jason W. Gibbens, 31, and Daniel Justesen, 24.
All five were booked into the Grant County jail on suspicion of conspiracy to delivery heroin.
Gibbens and Justesen also could face enhancements for delivering drugs in a school zone.
Man arrested with stolen, modified guns
A Moses Lake man suspected of using a fake Social Security number was arrested after police found a stolen gun and modified shotgun, officials said.
Adrian Contreras Garcia, 29, was arrested by Grant County's Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team and agents with the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force.
After his arrest, a stolen 9mm pistol and modified short-barreled semi-automatic shotgun were found at his house, Grant County sheriff's officials said.
Garcia was arrested on suspicion of forgery, two counts of alien in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a short-barreled shotgun.
