Lacey police are investigating the slaying of a 61-year-old woman who was found dead Tuesday at a home in the 3800 block of 12th Avenue Southeast.

A forensic pathologist determined the death was a homicide after an autopsy Wednesday, county Coroner Gary Warnock said. Warnock identified the woman as Sheri Peters.

Police say they’re withholding details such as where Peters was found and how she died to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Peters' body was found about noon by a person who lives at the home, Lt. Phil Comstock said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lacey police at 360-459-4333 or Thurston County Crime Stoppers 360-493-2222.
