West Pierce Fire & Rescue will have a new fire chief come Saturday, who is already familiar with his predecessor; They’re brothers.
Nearly three decades ago, Jim Sharp followed in his brother Ken's footsteps by becoming a firefighter. Now, he follows Ken's lead again, formally replacing his brother as the chief of West Pierce Fire & Rescue. The change came as Ken Sharp retired after 35 years with the department.
