According to a recent report, Treasure Valley Hospital in Boise will receive the largest bonus in the U.S. this year from Medicare as part of a program to reward hospitals for high-quality care.

Treasure Valley Hospital is a small Boise hospital co-owned by physicians. Surgeries, medical imaging and other procedures are performed there.

The hospital will receive a 0.83 percent increase in payments for each Medicare patient, starting in January, according to a Kaiser Health News analysis.

The Kaiser analysis of records from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services showed Medicare will reward 1,557 hospitals and penalize 1,427 hospitals based on their ability to meet certain standards and get good reviews from patients.
