A 23-year-old Sunnyside man was arrested Saturday night after he allegedly threatened employees at the Jack in the Box restaurant on South Hill Road in Sunnyside.

When Sunnyside police arrived at the restaurant, the suspect, Emmanuel Rivera, fled the scene and resisted arrest before he was subdued by police.

Rivera was taken into custody after a brief struggle, which also resulted in damage to a Sunnyside police car.

Rivera also was involved in a domestic assault case earlier in the evening. He was arrested for fourth-degree assault, malicious mischief, harassment, resisting arrest, criminal trespass and violation of no contact order.
