Campaign for $500 million Tacoma school bond set to begin

The campaign for a $500 million school bond that would finance 14 new or remodeled schools in Tacoma, along with other improvements throughout the school district, will host its kick-off event next month.

The campaign for a $500 million school bond that would finance 14 new or remodeled schools in Tacoma, along with other improvements throughout the school district, will host its kick-off event next month.

The “Renew Our Commitment – Yes on Prop 1” committee will host the first event at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 5 at the Metro Parks STAR Center, 3873 S. 66th St., Tacoma.

Kids and families are welcome to attend.

The event will include free coffee and snacks, and yard signs will be available.

    Participants won schoolwide competitions at Kamiakin, Kennewick, Kiona-Benton and Delta high schools to advance to the regional competition.
