The Key Center branch of the Pierce County Library System is set to reopen earlier than expected, the system announced last week.
The library, which closed in November for renovations to expand space for collections and technology, was scheduled to reopen Feb. 27.
But it’s now set to open Feb. 3 after improvement work progressed more quickly than anticipated.
Until then, patrons can continue to use the Explorers Kids’ Bookmobile, which has provided a place to check out books, movies, audiobooks and other library items.
The bookmobile is parked at the Key Peninsula Civic Center, 17010 S. Vaughn Road, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Computers also are available for public use inside the civic center on a first-come, first-served basis from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
